Marketing a Home
Marketing a home is perhaps the best reason to hire a Realtor as opposed to selling a home yourself. Sure, there are many other things that a Realtor like myself will do for you, but marketing a home isn't the same as marketing an old couch you want to sell.
You should hire a Realtor that has a written marketing plan that is proven to sell homes like yours. I have a standard marketing plan with 27+ steps that I follow and complete in the first 72 hours and I emphasize marketing on the Internet (where most buyers begin shopping for a home) as opposed to wasting time and money in printed magazines and newspapers. But I often custom-taylor my marketing plan to make it work better for certain properties because no two properties are identical. Strategies for selling vacant land are going to be different from those used to sell a single-bedroom condominium downtown. Customization and personalization should be key considerations in marketing your home.
