The City of Denver, Colorado is the capital of Colorado and is located in Denver county. As with any large city, residents of nearby suburbs refer to themselves as living in Denver when it really might be something like Lakewood, Glendale, or Aurora. Denver Colorado Map

The yellow highlighted area represents an approximate boundary line of Denver. The approximate location of downtown Denver is indicated with a red dot, and this is the center of social activities and sports arenas. The capital building in on the east side of downtown.
