          <div style="clear:both;"></div><img src="http://www.mikesclients.com/blog/uploaded_images/photo-746158-746256.jpg" border="0" hspace=8 align=right alt="" />I just received at my doorstep what must be the 4th or 5th yellow pages book in the last year and it went straight to my recycle bin...again. True, I might be a bit more technology oriented than many folks these days, but I wonder just how many other people simply recycle the familiar yellow book instead of placing it near their home phone like they use to.<br />Heck, "home phone"?! How many people out there even have a home phone anymore? Haven't cell phones pretty much replaced those? Aren't people using their home wi-fi connections to quickly Google the things they use to go to the Yellow Pages for? Doesn't everyone has an iPhone that provides faster and more detailed information on businesses than this book?<br />Or am I way off base in my logic? I know there's still people who, when in need of a business, "let their fingers do the walking," but for me that walking is done on the Internet and I wish I'd stop getting these thick waste of paper books every few months.<div style="clear:both; padding-bottom:0.25em"></div><br /></font><font size="2">

				<a name="c8675178170482640065"></a> 				A bit off base, last year US consumers referenced the print Yellow Pages over 13.4 billion times and iPhones aren't the norm for most people.  It might surprise you to know that many people don't even have access to the Internet at work.  <BR/>FYI, YP publishers also have online versions AND provide content to other search sites.  It comes down to choice, or sometimes just the time of day, the room you're in or the way you want to search.  Small businesses rely on the YP in all its formats to get buyers, not browsers. My brother has a recruiting business in a high tech area and he gets over 30 calls per month from his Yellow Book print ad and lots of clicks from the internet version as well.<BR/>I use the internet for research about products (and reviews), but I still find local businesses the old fashion way. And like SHobbs said, I do not surf the net at work.<br />
