Home sales are up

According to the Rocky Mountain News today, "New homes sales post better-than-expected gain...providing hope that the serious slump in housing could be ending."

Personally, I think the increase in new home sales is because of the incredible incentives the builders have been offering. I'd be willing to bet that the drop in re-sale home activity is because buyers have gone to buying a brand new home for what equates to a lower price than a used home.

Some builders are offering tens of thousands of dollars worth of incentives. And new homes offer the ammenities that gen-xer's are seeking, things like big kitchens, small yards, nearby parks, energy efficient systems, his & her closets, and more. It's no surprise that new home sales are up.
