Selling in the winter

If you are trying to sell your home pay attention to the first thing potential buyers see, the exterior. And this is the time of year when your landscaping can be a real challenge to maintain. Trees are dropping their leaves, grass is beginning to turn less-green, and snow is on the way.

If you are trying to sell during the winter months it'll be important to continue to keep the exterior of your home looking just as good as the interior, if not better.

Rake leaves, shovel snow, keep your gutters clear of debris so as not to have water dripping and pooling near the foundation, and something that is critically important in Colorado if you home faces North...keep snow and ice off your sidewalk and driveway. Not only does ice detract from the visual appearance of your home, but it increases the chances of someone falling and hurting themselves. Also, you don't want people tracking dirt into your home so perhaps make sure your showing instructions asks them to remove their shoes.
